Hey, Friends! I’ve been meaning to be more intentional when it comes to sharing hauls since I tend to talk about my empties often, so I’m switching it up for once. Today I’m sharing with you my last two Ulta hauls which I combined into one here since there really wasn’t a ton.
I’m kind of a slow beauty shopper and shop at different retailers for my beauty needs, so I’m not one to ever get close to Ulta’s (or anywhere’s) platinum status. Well. I guess I spent more than usual at Ulta this year because I ended up getting sooo close to platinum! I had some items on my mind to get anyway so I decided to seal the deal and nab platinum for 2018. If I’m going to buy beauty products might as well get something in return, right? We’ll see if it’s actually worth it. So here’s what I got!
China Glaze Nail Polish in As Good as it Glitz and Liquid Leather. As Good as it Glitz is the tiny nail polish pictured on the left. The shade is from their 2017 holiday collection. I needed to spend just a little more to get free shipping so this was that item. I think metallic nail polish is so pretty. They say it’s a rose gold but I guess I was expecting this to be a little darker? This is a little more of a silvery pink but I’ll have to try it on and judge then. I also really wanted a decent, standard black polish since one I had (and since de-stashed) wasn’t quite hitting the mark.
The shade Liquid Leather had good reviews so for me this will (hopefully) be a staple part of my nail polish wardrobe. I needed a new black nail polish so hoping this one is decent!
Shea Sugar Scrub in Original Shea. I tried to make my own scrub and it didn’t work out, so instead of trying again I said screw it and bought this one. I want to try exfoliating before shaving since I was getting some ingrown hairs, or just exfoliating in the shower whenever I felt the need. I tend to enjoy shea-scented products and this one was as shea as it gets. I’ve only used it once but I like the texture. Haven’t tried it before shaving just yet but I can imagine it will do the job.
Egg White Pore Mask by Skinfood. I wanted to branch out and try some different masks. This one is a Korean brand that’s supposed to help clear out your pores which my skin could certainly use. I was expecting this mask to be clear since egg whites are clear but this was white and marshmallow-y in texture. I only used it once and not sure how I feel about it yet!
Face & Beauty Products
L’Oreal Blend Artist Foundation Sponge. I heard rave reviews about this sponge from YouTuber JamBeauty89. I always had a beauty blending sponge of some sort but only recently starting using them more. It was on sale and I was curious! I’m looking forward to trying it out.
Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter in Rose Gold. I heard great things about PF’s Butter Bronzers but wasn’t looking to add another bronzer to the few I had. I was, however, looking for an actual rose gold highlighter to round out my modest highlighter collection. So when I heard about this I knew I had to get it-of course it wasn’t in store at the time so that prompted me to order online. I’ve tried it maybe twice but I love it already! It leaves such a pretty warm highlight that complements my skin tone. I heard over and over how great these smell, and everyone was right. It’s delightful but not overpowering. Just like pina coladas. Ahhh.
L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation. This is a backup since my current Lumi foundation is close to being finished. At first I was wondering if this was up my alley because I tend to get oily skin, but it turns out I really like it. Just because I can get oily throughout the day doesn’t mean I always want to be super matte all the time. I like a natural finish to my foundation, aka I like a little bit of dewiness, and this foundation is a perfect drugstore foundation for that. Lumi doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight, yet it doesn’t slide all over or leave me shiny- at least during the colder months. So for the most part it stays put more so during this time of year. I also really like mixing this with foundations that can be a little too drying, like my Urban Decay All Nighter foundation. So whether alone or mixed, it’s awesome.
NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte in Bella. I have this fascination with metallic everything lately and I didn’t really have any lip products in that category. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a lip product that I wasn’t sure would look good, so I opted for this one. I originally was interested in a darker red but knew I wouldn’t wear it as much, so this was a more wearable shade for every day that can still be dressy. Bella is a very pretty medium darker pink/copper that is pigmented and shows up pretty well. It’s moussey in texture but feels light on the lips. It felt comfortable on from the one time I tried it. I really enjoy this lip product and have nothing else like it. The other shades are also really pretty and I’d get them, I’m just not in any hurry at the moment. This quells my metallic lip fix for now!
And this beauty:
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I was eyeing this since last year but was on the fence. People everywhere love this thing but did I really need more brown shadows in my life? I already have so many different brown single shadows. I was wondering if this would be redundant, but since I know I use brown shadows quite often and I enjoy palettes (they make my life easier), I figured this would be a nice addition. Plus the packaging is too adorable and it smells like chocolate. I knew I’d get my use out of it so I went for it. The reviews were pretty much accurate with this- they look beautiful on and the pigmentation has been pretty good with the shades I’ve used so far. I’m very happy with it and haven’t had any regrets! You can use this daily or for special occasions. I love using the darker shades as liners too.
I figured I’d include a shot of the free samples included with my order:
I’m very interested in playing with both of those, I’ve heard different things about the Too Faced Born this way concealer so I want to try it for myself. Plus I could always use a hair cream. I never tried Living Proof so I’m excited! Ulta did a good job with these samples.
And this here was a promotional sample bag filled with tons of samples if your ordered a certain amount. They had three different bags to choose from. I thought I’d get the most use out of this one- lots of skincare and other goodies! The bag itself is festive rose gold sequins (love), and the samples?! Well I’ll let the picture speak for itself:
And that completes my latest Ulta Haul from November!
