Hey Friends! Today I’ll be sharing with you my lip product organization and recent lip declutter (you can read about my other lip declutter here). This post has been a long time coming, but I just wanted it to be as updated as possible. For me the cycle of decluttering and acquiring never really ends, it just takes breaks. I don’t think I’ll be doing either for a while (at least with lip products) so I figured now would be a great time to share! Continue reading “Lip Product Organization/Declutter Summer 2017”
Greetings all! March is marching on as I like to say, and here I am back in toss-out mode! I have this endless fascination with decluttering or purging stuff. Last summer I did a major eyeshadow declutter and lip product declutter, and I’m at it again. I’m going through my house little by little and getting rid of stuff in different categories. It’s one of those things that’s an ongoing process- something I really like to do once in a while to keep things neat and updated.
I’ve definitely outgrown products and some are just no longer functional, and for me it’s just finding the time to sort everything out. Sometimes I’ll get rid of a bunch of things at once, other times it’s more spontaneous or random. I always find it interesting that when it comes to some things, one moment it’s so hard to let go then all of a sudden you’re just ready and it needs to be out of your life. At least that’s how it is for me! Continue reading “Product Toss/Declutter: Part 3”
I have recently decluttered a large amount of beauty products from my stash and decided to break it up into two, maybe three posts, or heck make a whole series out of it! My first was on lip products I tossed. Here I will talk about eyeshadow I finally purged.
It’s been a very long time since I’ve done a serious weeding through of products, so I have kind of an embarrassing amount that I’m tossing. Ideally, I hope to have less and less to get rid of over time, being much pickier about what I’ll buy and maybe do little purges more often as opposed to one huge one per year- maybe I’m a weirdo but I do feel a lot of gratification when I declutter a ton at once!
I decided to declutter these shadows for similar reasons as my lip gloss- 1)too old 2) no desire to use 3) formula not living up.Anyway, here are the shadows I decided to finally say goodbye to:
Some themes I noticed:
Not a fan of glitter in my shadows. Maybe at one point that was my thing, but I don’t remember even wearing glitter and certainly don’t plan to in the future. I love a little shimmer and metallic finish, but glitter in eyeshadow is not happening for me. Continue reading “Decluttering Part 2: Eyeshadow”
If you’re a makeup junkie makeup/beauty product enthusiast, I’m sure you can relate-my history and love of makeup has led to a pretty big stash. I’ve loved, hated, kept, tossed (though more keeping than tossing) and repeated this cycle quite frequently. Then one day a few years back I had a Forrest Gump moment. Remember that part in the movie when he was running and running with the crowd behind him, and then one day declared he was tired and just stopped? That was me a few years ago. The urgency of buying similar items in bulk had come to a sudden halt. I took a big pause and slowed down the hauls. Not that I’ll ever stop completely, but I’ve become much pickier over time with what I’ll buy and keep. Continue reading “Makeup Declutter Part 1: Lip Products!”
