I’m beyond late with my July empties but August has been that kind of month. You’d think having been off would mean more blogging, but for me but sometimes “off” means doing everything but blogging! It just hasn’t been on the top of my list. Work also started back up this past week, so getting back to meetings and changes in schedule meant the blog really took a back seat! So anyway, I’m finally ready to report the yays and nays of my July empties!
Revlon Colorstay Foundation. I liked this foundation. When it comes to medium/full coverage and staying on your face, this is pretty good for a drugstore foundation. It is a thicker formula so while there may have been more left in the bottle, it just wasn’t coming out. I’d probably get this again at some point- in fact recently I was close to repurchasing but ended up going with some higher-end foundations. So I probably won’t get this for a long time if ever. I’m seeing that it comes in a pump bottle now so that is very cool.
NYX Mineral Set it & Don’t Fret It Powder. This powder was fine, nothing exceptional. It did the basic primary setting job, but not meant for keeping me matte all day. It wasn’t bad, but probably wouldn’t get this again.
E.L.F. Natural Lash Kit. I’m not one to use lashes on a regular basis but I will for special occasions. I got a few uses out of these but it was time to toss. I don’t know if it was just how I put them on (more than likely) or the falsies themselves but I always had issues with the inner corner lashes not sticking and popping off. I think I figured out how to apply them better after some trial and error. These were good “starter” lashes but I’m ready to move on to a different brand!
Manuka Honey Peel-Off Mask. I purchased this at Ulta from one of those stands by the counter on a whim- I needed to spend another dollar or two to be able to use a coupon. This one was pretty good for the price! I haven’t used a peel-off mask in a while but this was a pretty legit one. I felt like it did a good job removing the dead skin off my face and I enjoyed the scent. Worth a shot if you need a dollar to spend at Ulta!
Beauty 360 Wipes. I’m so not going over this one again since I did it twice before but so glad these are done! No way am I getting these ever again!! The scent was such a turn off and kinda left a film.
L’Oreal Evercreme Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Conditioner. I’ve repurchased this shampoo and conditioner a few times, once in a different scent. I don’t know if the scent is called “Camelina” or what that is on the bottle but I enjoyed this particular fragrance- it was kind of like shea butter/vanilla, not something perfume-y. So while this was kind of my go-to for years when I would dye my hair, I’m trying other brands like Shea Moisture which I think I like better. It doesn’t seem as drying as the L’Oreal. I may go back to it eventually but for now I probably won’t repurchase.
And some Toss-Outs:
L’Occitane 100% Shea Butter. This was part of a set-had it for way too long and never reached for it. Not sure if that’s why it didn’t work that great but when I tried to use it again I just didn’t find it moisturizing at all. In fact it left my hands and feet feeling more dry. Obviously I had to get rid of it and nope, not buying again.
Sephora Eye Pencil. No big story- I thought the spring green color was something different at the time but honestly it looked kinda meh on, I never reached for it, and it’s just old. Time to toss!!
So these were all of my July Empties! Ever use these?
