Hey guys! April and May have been pretty inconsistent for my blog-I have been zoning in at work, mom stuff-baby boy just turned 3 so we had a little party for him, and…who really knows?! Life.
But back to the topic- brows. I didn’t always do my brows as part of my makeup routine unless it was for special events, but now I can’t imagine NOT doing them! Brows have become part of my daily routine. I’ve mainly used pencils in the past but have wanted to try different forms of brow products (pomade, brow gel/tint, powders…I love to play after all!) and I wanted to share current brow products that I’ve been enjoying so far and a little about how I use each. This post will focus on the colored brow products I use most.
This product was part of a recent face product wish list. I got mine in the shade Chocolate which I was afraid would be too reddish brown but it actually works pretty well with my hair color. I found my perfect way to use it. I personally don’t really like super sculpted brows on myself- when I attempt that look my brows look huge and I look ca-raaaazy. On my face I like somewhat fuller, shaped, tamed brows. I only need to add a tad of this to my brush. With Dipbrow I do not outline my brows and then fill in- I start inwards and work my way out to get the look I want, then do a final comb-through with a spoolie. The spoolie pictured is actually a dual-ended Ardell brush, not by Anastasia. Again just a little of this stuff goes a long way. Great product, though I suggest using a light hand if you’re like me and want more of a natural look.
Ulta Brow Tint
My latest brow product! I purchased the Ulta Brow Tint in the shade Deep. I always get nervous that I’ll end up with a too-dark brow product (scary high school flashback when I at one point used black brow pencil-Harsh.). This has a tiny spoolie applicator. I had to train myself to have some restraint- a lot of product can get on the spoolie so I have to watch out for that. Like the Anastasia Dipbrow, a little of this stuff goes a long way. Took a sec to get used to using but it makes my brows look natural yet polished-just can’t go hog wild with it. I have to be careful and stay within the brow line since it is wetter than anything else I use and can get messy if I’m not precise. No need to comb through with this cause it’s a spoolie applicator.
ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil
This pencil is pretty good too. It’s creamy (but not too creamy) and stays put all day. I got mine in neutral. Another win from the ELF line. I’m not super complicated with it- comb though brows, fill in accordingly, comb through again and call it a day! I like this for more casual looks but it could be used anytime.
NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder
This is the first brow powder I ever tried and it’s pretty good. I like that it comes with two slightly different shades of brown so you can mix if you want. It comes with a cute little spoolie and an angled brow brush which I’ve used (not too bad) and are handy for travel. I use the wax first to set them, then use the powder to fill in. Brush through with the spoolie to blend everything. Pretty easy to use in my opinion.
NYC Classic Eyebrow & Eyeliner Pencil
I almost forgot to include this one but I’ve had it forever and still like using it even though it’s old and the writing pretty much rubbed off! This shade is 925A, Sable. Very easy to use and great for being so cheap! I think you can find it for .99 in some places. I use this solely for brows now and not really as a liner. It’s much better for brows than as a liner in my opinion!
So these are my favorite brow products at the moment! What brow products are you currently enjoying?
