Hey everyone and happy April! I’m getting over a terrible cold I had for a week (bleh! What a way to finish out winter!) but I’m happy to say I’m almost back to my normal self.
My mind is a total sponge right now and I’m open to so many new (and not so new) products out there! I’m constantly looking at makeup and skincare on social media so this isn’t necessarily a conclusive list but rather a few things I’m definitely interested in trying at some point. Mostly face products this time around, but stuff I know I’d probably reach for regularly (if I end up liking them!).
I’m not one to impulse buy but if something is supposed to be good and I’m in that open kinda mood, who knows what I’ll end up with! I’m definitely curious to see if these live up to the hype. While there are more products and brands I’d love to try, these face products are at the top of my list at the moment! So here they are in no particular order:
This has been out for a while now and I feel like I cannot get away from hearing/seeing it! I use brow pencils and have an Ardell pomade (that’s just ok), but apparently the Anastasia Dipbrow will give me magic eyebrows. I definitely want to see for myself if it will make a difference in filling in brows and perhaps getting that more defined brow look. I’d actually like to try any of Anastasia’s brow products!
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
If you keep up with beauty products I probably don’t need to explain why I want this stuff. It’s supposedly a fabulous concealer. I don’t necessarily have problems with really dark circles or creasing in the undereye area and I do like the concealers I currently use, but there’s something about the “full coverage” aspect of Tarte Shape Tape that perks my ears up. It also has a larger-than-normal doe foot applicator that looks interesting. It’s supposed to be really blendable and long wearing, two things that are always good in a concealer. I made a deal with myself that I wouldn’t get this til I’ve finished a concealer in my stash though. We’ll see how that plays out.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
A cult fave, this is supposed to be awesome at setting makeup. And for those like myself who tend to get oily, this could be “Holy Grail” status. I do like the setting powders I already use, but I do need to touch up most days depending on the foundation I use. My current powders after a few hours don’t always prevent my makeup from breaking down or stop the shine, so if this actually does that I will seriously be impressed!
Milani Make it Last Setting Spray
Again with the hype! I guess because it’s a new release, it’s been sold out at all the drugstores I go to or just hasn’t been in stock. Good thing I have a friend who works in retail and was able to get one for me before it sells out again. Apparently this is supposed to be so so good- up there with all the high end ones. And it’s only 9.99! Since the primer spray from Victoria’s Secret didn’t quite work out, I’ve been looking for an inexpensive setting spray that would work with my skin type. And man, will I be excited if it does!
Have you tried any of these and if so what are your thoughts?! Are there any beauty products you’re looking to get this season or brands you are looking to try?
